Aesthetic Productions just released the soundtrack from Jorg Buttgereit's infamous horror films "Nekromantik," "Nekromantik 2," and "Der Todesking" on one vinyl LP called "Nekronology." The graphic design was by yours truly (sorry, but I'm pretty proud of it).

This beautiful Gatefold LP is available for sale NOW over at aestheticpayments.tripod.com. The LP is on 180g vinyl in black as well as translucent red with black splatter (pictured below).

You can hear music samples on the Aesthetic MySpace page. For more on composer Hermann Kopp please visit his official website hermannkopp.com and MySpace page.

Chapman Brothers & Horror

Check out this excellent interview with the Chapman Brothers. I love that the interviewer put them in a horror context.

The interview mentions them working on a follow up to "Hell." This work is called "Fucking Hell" and there's an amazing video of it on the Chapman Brother's website: jakeanddinoschapman.com

Michael Gira

I am honored to have one of my favorite all around artists, Mr. Michael Gira, on Colors of the Dark.

Michael Gira is a well known musician for such projects as Swans and Angels of Light (as well as his excellent solo recordings). He also wrote one of my favorite books, "The Consumer" and now has published an edition of his artwork titled "I AM NOT INSANE" (one of the images above).

You can get a copy of this limited edition of 500 set over at Young God Records here.

If you've never heard the music of Michael Gira and his Young God label you are really missing out - his work is a cornerstone of what influenced this blog.

Many thanks to David Perry from Young God for providing me with the above image.

Pulse Emitter

Live at No Fun Fest 2009, photo by Bridget Burns (click image to see larger).

Pulse Emitter is the analog experimental project of Daryl Groetsch from Portland, Oregon. This has been my favorite style of music for the last few years and Daryl's work is among the very best of the current practitioners.

Pulse Emitter's official website is synthnoise.com

If you go to the "additional" section there are links to his MySpace, YouTube videos and more. You can also get several free MP3s at freemusicarchive.org/music/Pulse_Emitter

Check out Daryl's beautiful modular synth (which he made himself! Click image to see larger.)...

Jack Ketchum's Offspring

I was pleased to see that horror writer Jack Ketchum has a new movie coming soon called "Offspring." I have read a few of his books and definitely enjoyed the films "Girl Next Door" and "The Lost."

Unfortunately there is only one review I can find for "Offspring" which is not exactly glowing (from what I can tell via the Google translation). Either way, I know I'll be seeing it once it becomes available in the U.S.

There's more to see over at the movie's official website offspringthemovie.com

The above video is very short but probably NOT WORK SAFE (your coworkers might look at you a little funny from now on).

This one is shockingly beautiful (and work safe!) in comparison to Lorenzo's other videos.
